Located in Sterling, Virginia, near the Washington Dulles International Airport, The Richards Corporation has been in the business of research, development, design, manufacture, and support of a diversified line of photo interpretation equipment since 1958.

Specializing in light tables used for displaying and viewing aerial photography, The Richards Corporation has produced over 14,500 light tables in some 150 different models for military, intelligence, government/state agencies, civilian, and commercial customers worldwide. The Richards' product line covers the spectrum of light table needs from reliable desktop workstations to stand-alone light tables for mono and stereoscopic viewing.

Richards' equipment enjoys a worldwide reputation for dependability and performance. Designed and engineered for ease of operation and maintenance, the diversified product line complements a wide variety of image analysis requirements. Richards' workstations include mounting configurations to support the Zoom 240 and Zoom 500 Optics, which have been sold for image analysis throughout the western world. In addition Richards offers a modification to the Zoom 500 that will provide a range of solutions to transform a stand-alone Zoom 500 into a full multi-source image exploitation system, fully integrated into a digital softcopy environment.

In April 2004, Richards acquired all of the assets of Image Interpretation Systems (IIS) from Thales Optem. These assets include the Zoom 240 and Zoom 500 optical system product lines. IIS and Thales Optem are the successors of Bausch & Lomb the original manufacturer of the Zoom 240 and the Zoom 500 systems. The facility in Fairport, New York has been manufacturing the systems for over 15 years.

Richards' Quality System is certified to AS-9100& 2000.

In addition to our imagery interpretation activities, in 1995 Richards acquired TIA a manufacturer of Galley Insert Equipment. TIA activities were moved to our facility in Sterling, Virginia in 1997. TIA is a leading supplier of Galley Insert Equipment for Corporate aircraft, Regional Jet aircraft and Military transport aircraft.
